Together we pursue all things Austen, for she has filled many of our
hours with laughter and enjoyment. Our mission is to foster among the
widest number of readers the study, appreciation, and understanding of
Jane Austen’s works, her life, and her genius.

Our MeetingsWe meet quarterly on a Saturday afternoon in March, June, September and December. The meetings are usually held in the Sacramento County Public Library branches. Our meetings are open to the public and generally are free of charge.

Our ProgramsPrograms of the meetings vary throughout the year to create a lively and interesting balance. At each meeting we strive to present a mix of information and fun, which might include:
- Discussion of the novels
- Details of Jane Austen's life
- The historical and cultural context in which she lived and worked
- Theatrical performances
- Talks by local scholars and Austen specialists
- Audio-visual presentations
- Lively discussions by the members
- And always... refreshments
Our MembersEstablished in 2012, JASNA Greater Sacramento currently has more than 60 members. Our members are all ages and come from various walks of life. We are together because we enjoy reading and learning more about the novels and culture of Regency England.
Whether you're a doctoral candidate working on a thesis on Austen's Chawton years or you just can't stop watching all 12 hours of the BBC production of Pride and Prejudice come join us.
