Question 2: Do you agree with Dr. Bell's argument that Sidney Parker was not who Jane Austen intended to be the hero in Sanditon?

For those of you who attended Dr. Bell’s presentation on Sandition- and for those who didn’t here is a link to his article on the same subject- do you agree with his argument that Sidney Parker was not who Jane Austen intended to be the hero in Sanditon? Do you agree with his evidence? If not, What evidence is there that supports Sidney being the hero?

What are your thoughts after reading Jane Austen’s unfinished novel Sanditon? Do any of the characters remind you of characters in her previous works? Do you think there are enough “clues” to guess how the story will progress? How do you think Austen would have completed the novel if she’d had the chance?
