In listening to and comparing musical themes\, particularly from adaptations of “Pride and Prejudice\,” this session will uncover the variety of ways that soundtracks interpret Jane’s stories. SUMMARY:Book-to-Fork and Movie Fan Club
DESCRIPTION:A joint meeting of the Jane Austen Book-to-Fork Cooking Club and the Jane Austen Movie Fan Club. \nWe will be discussing Royal Upstairs Downstairs – the Chatsworth and Burghley House episodes.  These grand estates played Pemberley and Rosings\, respectively in the 2005 Pride and Prejudice film. Please prepare a dish that includes pineapple or ice cream.  During the Regency\, these were foods that were difficult to obtain and make and enjoyed only by the rich. \nThe cookbook Dinner with Mr. Darcy by Pen Vogler contains an ice cream recipe with pineapple. Pride and Pudding by Regula Ysewijn contains several interesting ice cream recipes from the 17th\, 18th\, and 19th centuries. If you have a favorite family recipe for ice cream\, please feel free to share it. We will share our dishes on Zoom screen.
